Coastal Foraging Walk and Lunch, 19th April

£40.00
sold out

Join us for a hands-on foraging experience around Pendennis Headland in Falmouth, where you’ll learn plant and seaweed identification, followed by a BBQ seafood lunch on the beach.

April is a wonderful month for foraging – a time of vibrant renewal and hidden abundance in the woodlands, hedgerows and rock pools. New season greens are in their prime and the seaweeds are in crisp, perfect condition before they get scorched by the hot summer sun.

Alongside identification skills you’ll learn how to transform the plants and seaweeds you find into delicious dinners. A big part of what we do at Kelp Canteen is transforming seasonal wild plants and seaweeds into something tasty.

We’ll spend roughly an hour in the woods, an hour in the rockpools, and an hour cooking and eating our BBQ seafood lunch with plenty of wild food elements. Please let us know of any dietaries ahead of the course. We can cater for vegans/vegetarians.

About the instructor:

Elliot has been guiding foraging walks for over 10 years, covering everything from wild mushrooms to woodland plants, coastal greens, seaweeds and shellfish. He worked at Noma in Copenhagen learning how to transform wild foods into delicious ingredients before guiding foraging walks at Hunter Gather Cook in Sussex and for many private clients and events.
